I LOVE when a client isn’t afraid of pattern and color. While many times their style may not be my own, it’s so exciting when clients bring some fun to a project. My clients did just that with their small half bath. I knew just from the fun colors throughout the house that this was going to be a client that let the rooms be expressive.

My client wanted to remove the wainscot tile and add a statement tile wall on the back wall. Due to the small space, we knew that the radiator would be an issue. My client had already done some research and was looking for a slim line hydronic radiator to create some more space in the room.

We knew that this wasn’t a project to remake the wheel – it’s a small space which presents it’s own challenges. They wanted to have a wall hung sink that fit the space (preferably with storage when guests were staying over). The first challenge was to reimagine the radiator to give more room for the sink.

The Homeowner chose this fun circular pattern concrete tile. The pattern has movement as the circles change in size and it makes a bold statement in an older style home. I love that the homeowners kept traditional details like the base moulding but mixed their sense of style with the tile choice.

The wall hung vanity is sized just right and affords some storage options for when guests arrive. The drawer is now possible due to the removal of the large radiator and the small space now feels less tight.

Along with a bold tile choice on the accent wall, they chose a fun terrazzo tile for the floor. The pattern and color choice just adds to the fun vibe for this small space. With a slim line baseboard panel installed, the space still has heat for the cold weather months. The new clean lines of the radiator is now inconspicuous and allows the tile choices to be the key elements that your eye is drawn to.

This project is a small stunner and I can’t wait for the final photos!
